LEGALIZATON OF BAA&COSMETICS.

Presently, the bioactive additive (BAA) registration procedure in Ukraine stipulates obtaining of an opinion of the Sanitary and Hygienic Expert Committee to be entered into the Public Register. A manufacturer or importer willing to produce or import into Ukraine BAAs shall furnish samples, specifications, descriptions, and comments to one of the competent medical institutions authorised to make and issue Sanitary and Hygienic Opinions. In fact, such samples are only tested and verified to be safe for human health. The issues of product effect on certain processes in human body may actually arise only upon the relevant clinical trials.

Subject to the BAA Registration Services Standard approved by the Ministry for Public Health of Ukraine, an applicant shall submit the required documents to the Ministry for Public Health of Ukraine, obtain the opinion of product classifying as a special food or diet product, and successfully pass the sanitary and epidemic expert examination, and thereafter, in case of a favourable opinion, the product concerned is entered into the Public Register.
